Everyday Excel Part 1

Microsoft's family of Office applications are standard for businesses worldwide but they are equally handy at home. This family of classes will introduce you to the fundamentals of Excel, PowerPoint, and MSWord for practical use at home. For example, use of Excel for simple home budgets, PowerPoint for fun and interesting photo presentations, and MSWord for journaling! Bring your laptop to class.

Participants will either need have their own paid license of Microsoft 365™ or plan to use the online/cloud version of the applicable Microsoft™ tool by way of a Microsoft personal or work account.

For any of the ‘Everyday’ courses (Excel, PowerPoint, MSWord), students will need either:

  • Their own paid license of Microsoft 365, or
  • Plan to use the online/cloud version of the applicable Microsoft tool

Both approaches require preparation. Please see below:

Paid Microsoft 365 license

For purchase of a personal, family, or premium account, see this link. This approach offers a hybrid (not entirely cloud based) approach in which the application can be used without internet access.

To use the online versions of Microsoft tools, you need to sign in with a Microsoft account (personal) or a work/school account. There is no cost for a personal account on Microsoft. You may already have an account if you use Outlook.com, OneDrive, Xbox, or Skype.
