    Learn the basics of American Sign Language (ASL) in this interactive beginner course. You'll master the alphabet, numbers, common phrases, and essential vocabulary. Through engaging activities and practice sessions, you'll build foundational skills in finger spelling, facial expressions, and basic grammar, enabling effective communication with the Deaf community.     Heritage Enrichment

    ASL 1: ASL, American Sign Language, is used in the United States and Canada. There are future career opportunities related to ASL as well as personal enrichment when learning a new language. The alphabet, greetings, foods, animals and other engaging themed vocabulary will be covered. Taught by: Suzanne Downs--Parent of a daughter who is deaf and a retired Deaf/Hard of Hearing school teacher. She has taught ASL at the high school, middle school, and community education level. Her belief is that the more people who know sign language, the better!
