  • 197 ACT Prep Online/Curso preparatorio ACT en línea (Grades: 9-12)

    Online ACT Prep Course: self-paced, ideal if you can’t attend class. The online course will allow students to log-in for the course and proceed at their own pace. The course will be using Google Classroom to present the online course and it will be equivalent to the 12 hour classroom time. The course will use instructors' videos, voice-overs, illustrations, and slides that guide you through all of the testing areas of the ACT. You will also be able to communicate with the instructor when you have questions or concerns. **You will need a gmail account to access the google classroom. Your student's isd197.org account that is managed by google will not work--ISD197 blocks access to google classrooms outside the 197 domain. Please Read: Once students are enrolled, you will receive your classroom code in your course confirmation sent from the registration system, as well as directions on how to begin the simple process of starting their class.   • 197 ACT Prep Virtual with Instruction (Grades: 9-12)

    Virtual ACT Prep Class This course is an excellent alternative for any student unable to attend an in-person class, but still prefers the interaction with one of the Advantage Educational Programs' instructors. The Virtual ACT Prep Course is the same as the In-Person ACT Prep Course, but from the comfort of your own home. The instructors teach live via virtual classroom and are available to answer questions if needed. The fee for this course is $180 and the only things you need are an internet connection and a computer/tablet/smart phone. Instructions will be sent to you via email a few days before the course begins. Students can make up any class they miss at other available class locations and may also REPEAT any of the ACT prep courses by requesting the Self-Paced ACT Prep Course at no additional charge. Students can attend any missed classes at TRHS when the course if offered again and may repeat the course at no charge.   • ISD 197 Safeway Driver's Education In-Person at TRHS Fall Classes (Sept-Dec)

    School District 197 Youth Enrichment partners with Safeway Driving School to offer our Driver's Education classes. Safeway has been graduating safe teen drivers in the Twin Cities for over 50 years. Safeway’s only focus is creating safe, responsible teen drivers. Classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons emphasize defensive driving techniques tailored for the inexperienced teen driver while targeting to influence the invincible teen attitude. All of Safeway’s instructors are licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Public Safety. Parent involvement is required to produce safe, responsible teen drivers. It is critical that parents practice regularly with their student drivers. The state requires that students have a minimum of 50 hours of practice (15 hours at night). The practice time must be recorded on a state-approved Supervised Driving Log and presented at the road test. Parent Classes are offered monthly in person or by distance learning (via Zoom). This class is not required but qualifies the parent to receive a certificate that allows their student reduced practice time (from 50 to 40 hours). Parents can sign up for a Parent Class on Safeway’s website. At a minimum, Safeway strongly encourages parents to review its parent information and watch the online Parent Class Videos at www.safewaydrivingschool.com. Teen Package Pricing Details The cost for the teen package is $420, which covers both classroom and behind-the-wheel lessons, along with all necessary materials. There are no hidden fees or extra fuel surcharges. You have two payment options: Pay in full at the time of registration-$420. Payment plan: Pay $260 to Community Education upon registration.     ROCC Climbers — OverviewROCC Climbers is an after-school and out-of-school leadership program for youth of color grade 4th graders at GEMS. The program’s mission is to empower youth to “climb higher, lead boldly, and build a future they believe in” through mentorship, community, and hands-on leadership. Participation includes roughly 10-15 youths weekly, giving consistent community and support to each other. A Quick Note before Registering:This is a structured, progressive program rather than a drop-in class. Because each session builds on the last, we ask that you commit to attending the full series. Being there for every session ensures you get the most out of the journey and helps us build a wonderful, supportive community together!     Disc Golf 101 is an introductory course for students who want to learn more about the game of disc golf or even improve their skills on the courses. We have a limited number of discs available for kids to use during the class, they will not be available to take home, only for use during the class time. When you register for the class, please choose the -BYOD section if your student will have their own discs to bring on class days.
