Mat Pilates/Core on the Floor

This class uses both body weight and equipment to focus on strengthening and stabilizing the core, while improving flexibility and alignment. Modifications are offered to accommodate all fitness levels. Please bring your own mat for class.

November-December class is Core on the Floor

This class is a mat-based workout focused on strengthening, stabilizing, and toning the abdominal muscles, lower back, hips, and pelvic floor using bodyweight floor exercises. The majority of the class involves lying or kneeling on a mat performing exercises like crunches, bridges, planks, leg extensions, pelvic tilts, and basic pilates mat work. You will learn the importance of proper alignment, controlled movement, deep core engagement, and proper breathing techniques. Most classes require only a mat, but will also utilize some use light accessories like yoga blocks, small dumbbells/weights, resistance bands, and small balls. Primary benefits may include better posture, reduced back pain, and full body stability.
