Learn where to shop, brands to select, preparation of the ingredients, assembly of the rolls and presentation. You will create both the traditional rolled sushi (maki-zushi) and the American California sushi. Start with easy to season sushi rice, then select and roll wonderful ingredients such as chicken, shrimp, smoked salmon, crab, mushrooms, eggs, carrots, avocado, spinach, ginger and more! During this special dinner we will prepare and taste: Marinated shredded salad, fresh melon wrapped with prosciutto ham, classic spaghetti with pancetta bacon and Parmigiano cheese (Spaghetti alla Carbonara), a salad featuring mixed green (Insalata Mista), polenta served with sweet sausages and porcini mushrooms and concluding the meal with the classical frothy Zabaglione and the traditional almond cookies (Amaretti). Whether for a memorable weekend breakfast, brunch, teatime, to accompany a salad/soup or for another occasion, hot-from-your-oven breads are wonderful. Muffins (and their larger-sized quick breads) may be sweet or savory. Adjust the baking time (less than 30 minutes) for muffins to less than 1 hour for quick breads and a single recipe yields both! We’ll feature remarkable recipes to taste in class and take home PLUS tips, techniques and equipment to ensure success every time. Chocolate Chip Cookies - Everyone’s Favorite!Culinary ArtsWe have come a long way since the first Nestle Toll House (chocolate chip) cookies were made in 1930. Join us to create, taste and take home the originals, Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies with raisins and Mrs. Field’s special recipe too. Plus we will prepare others that feature peanuts, almonds, peanut butter, oatmeal, coconut and more! Food industry officials estimate that ½ of all cookies baked at home are chocolate chip cookies. Come, you’ll find wonderful new favorites to taste, take home and then bake for family and friends. Bring containers to transport your cookies home.
